“As we enter the 40th Anniversary year of Bahamian Independence Bahamians are more concerned than ever about where the country is headed, the urgent need for solutions to problems like unemployment and crime, as well as the need for a long-term development plan for the country,” said Joan Albury, President of TCL Group, organizers of the Bahamas Business Outlook forum.
The 22nd annual Bahamas Business Outlook is scheduled for January 10th, 2013 at the Wyndham Nassau Resort under the theme “Building on The Spirit of Independence: New Blueprints for Social and Economic Development”. Prime Minister Perry Christie will deliver opening remarks and other speakers will include George Markantonis, President and Managing Director of Kerzner International (Bahamas); Aliya Allen, CEO of The Bahamas Financial Services Board; Ian Fair, Chairman of The Grand Bahama Port Authority; Geoff Houston, CEO, BTC; Sharlyn Wilson-Smith, Attorney-at-Law, Sharon Wilson and Co.; Marcellus Taylor, Deputy Director of Education; Charles Carter, businessman, veteran broadcaster and Co-Chair of the Bahamas 40th Independence Anniversary Steering Committee; and Maggie Bain, Transformational speaker.
In addition to these local speakers Mrs. Albury revealed that Bahamas Business Outlook 2013 will welcome two exciting international speakers: Grant Walsh, Director and Founder of the KPMG Enterprise: Centre for Family Business in Ottawa, who will focus on issues affecting family businesses; and George Gobin, Microsoft Corporation’s Territory Manager for Bermuda, Cayman, The Bahamas, Belize and Turks & Caicos, who will address advancements in the area of business technology. “We are planning and expecting a day of excellent information, lively discussions and great opportunities for networking. I’m very excited about January 10th and look forward to the participation of the business community,” Mrs. Albury said.
