Two years ago Queen’s College embarked on implementing Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, using the school version-The Leader In Me. Students from the Early Learning Centre to the High School have embraced the principles of “being proactive”, “beginning with the end in mind” and “thinking win-win” to name a few.
Leadership Day, held in March of last year, was another first for Queen’s College, and we were proud to be the first and only school in The Bahamas to have implemented The Covey Habits. One of our primary objectives is to share this innovative leadership model with other Bahamian schools through our annual Leadership Days.
For one hundred and twenty two years Queen’s College has set a standard of excellence, and Leadership Day 2012 was a testament to this. This year on January 11th, Queen’s College will be hosting our second annual Leadership Day and also commemorating our 123rd Anniversary as an academic institution. The excitement is building in anticipation of level of excellence that this event showcases.
This year, local and international guests will tour the campus for a firsthand view of our Leadership program at Queen’s College. Students from all sections of the school are set to lead our guests in the day’s events. From classroom greeters who welcome guests upon their arrival, to tour guides who escort guests on classroom tours, our visitors will experience leadership in action. Throughout the day, student artists, writers, musicians, culinary masters and dancers will lead the way in enlightening and entertaining the audience.
Leadership Day 2013 promises to be an exciting day!
