Farrell Goff was born in Rock Sound Eleuthera and resided there for the first five years of his life under the watchful eye of his very loving and spiritual grandmother. These formative years on “the island” had much to do with the creating the building blocks for his future character and way of life.
At the age of five he moved to Nassau to live with his mother Sabrina Heastie and step-father Stephen Heastie in a very stable but eventful household. His parents were the owners and operators of a few different business offerings. This gave him the unique opportunity of being raised in a very entrepreneurial environment which manifested itself later in his professional development. He attended Queens College Primary and High schools through to graduation. It is in high school that Farrell became enamoured with a subject called Graphical Communications which led to his Architectural pursuits on a collegiate level.
He attended Howard University School of Architecture in Washington DC, successfully receiving his Bachelor’s degree in spring of 2000. While at Howard University he received a great deal more than just architectural training, the diverse background and fabric of the university became the catalyst for many other interests and passions. His love of country heightened after learning so much about the Black Diaspora and the history of his ancestors and himself for the first time. This is when a deeply rooted sense of patriotism and nationalism took hold. Playing a more active role in the leadership and policy making of his homestead became a true desire.
A master’s in civil engineering at Catholic University also in Washington DC quickly followed the Bachelors degree. He was able to work full time while pursuing the post graduate degree which allowed for valuable work experience in a very multifaceted climate and corporate structure. Project Management has always been Farrell’s focus after graduation, all positions held since that time has been in this area of construction and architecture. His propensity for organization and natural leadership skills makes it an easy fit.
Farrell promptly returned to the Bahamas shortly after receiving his Master’s Degree in spring of 2002, there was no intentions of spending any more time away from home than what was necessary. He has held some very key project management positions since his return home, but none were strong enough to take him from his entrepreneurial roots. He established two businesses of his own in 2006 and never looked back. Currently he is the owner of Bahamas Woodworking Studio which provides high end custom built cabinetry locally produced and Synergy Visualization which is a consultant firm offering architectural renderings to realtors, architects and developers.
Farrell is married and resides with his wife and young son. His personal interests range from reading, boating, snowboarding and distance running. Healthy living is a must, physically and spiritually for Farrell. He attends Global Village Methodist church and is an active member of the church community.
