To add insult to injury, The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) grossly overcharged hundreds of post paid customers. Some were charged tens of thousands of dollars in excess.
Along with lousy reception, constant outages and rude service, disgruntled customers are complaining that the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) grossly overcharged hundreds of post paid customers by thousands of dollars in a few extreme cases.
While many of the affected customers are those who have Blackberry service, an executive at the company said he was not exactly sure who has been affected.
One woman, who said she has lost all confidence in BTC, received a bill for over $3o,0oo. Her bill is usually somewhere between $100 and $200.
Marlon Johnson BTC’s VP of Marketing Sales and Business Development, was unable to say how or why customers were overcharged.
He said the company is encouraging customers whose bills seem wrong to call or come into one of their locations.
BTC has approxixmately 41,000 post paid customers, most of whom were unaffected.
Mr Johnson said that by the next billing process – November 7 – the billing errors should be reversed.
