In order to better meet demand in the Caribbean, Crowley Maritime Corp. has added a Saturday sailing from Port Everglades to Nassau, The Bahamas.
This new service is only the company’s second weekly ocean-freight service from Port Everglades. The Saturday sailing day will give customers an additional option for the transport of goods, including groceries, retail merchandise, building materials, refrigerated products, and vehicles.
According to a company release, the vessel’s arrival in Nassau on Mondays also aligns well with the logistical needs of the local market.
“It’s important for us to listen and be responsive to our customers,” Tony Otero, Crowley’s vice president of Caribbean services, said in a statement. “Based on their input, we adjusted our Bahamas service schedule to offer them more flexibility to get their products and other cargo to market.”
