The Supreme Court has granted bail to a former police constable accused of murder six months after his arrest.
Kenneth Gibson, 29, is charged with the stabbing death of George Carey at Lockhart’s Bar on Wulff Road in April.
Gibson was a serving member of the police force when prosecutors allege that he committed the crime.
However, the commissioner of police fired him after he was charged with the offense in May.
Gibson’s lawyer Jomo Campbell applied for bail aurguing that the prosecution’s proposed evidence was weak.
The Supreme Court set bail at $35,000 with two sureties on Thursday. Gibson was released from custody on Friday.
