After almost being derailed by local vets, the mass spay and neuter project known as Operation Potcake was a huge success. 1,220 animals were fixed in just five days.

Hundreds of pet owners dropped off their pets four locations around the capital, and picked them up the same day, free of charge.
Dogs were treated at St Bede’s Church Hall off Kemp Road, Our Lady Church on Deveaux Street off East Street and Oral’s Golden Auto on Carmichael and Golden Isles.
Cats were treated at the Bahamas Humane Society in Chippingham.
