Harbour Island, BAHAMAS – The Dunmore on Harbour Island will re-open on December 26th, 2010. Formerly the Dunmore Beach Club, The Dunmore will re-open in grand style with complete renovations to the hotel’s clubhouse, 16 cottages, restaurant and bar. A new pool and open-air fitness facility will also be unveiled at the beachfront hotel. In January 2011, construction will begin on the first of six residential home sites at The Dunmore. Residential sales have already commenced.
The Dunmore is nestled among 10 beautiful acres with 550 feet of beachfront and consists of a full- service 16-room hotel, clubhouse, restaurant, bar, pool and fitness center. The hotel has been transformed with newly painted, crisp-white exteriors and all new interior finishes and furnishings. Every private cottage will include new modern amenities, luxury soft goods and a state-of-the-art technology package.
The Residences at The Dunmore Hotel is a new development offering a master-planned community of six exclusive home sites with breathtaking ocean views and private beach access. Homeowners at The Residences will enjoy the amenities and convenience of a full-service, luxury resort. The private residences and hotel at The Dunmore have been master-planned by an award-winning architectural and design team comprised of Miami-based de la Guardia Victoria Architects and Urbanists (DLGV) and Amanda Lindroth of Lindroth Design Company. The two firms recently combined efforts on Ca’liza House in Nassau, featured on the cover of the June 2010 issue of Veranda.
The hotel’s upgraded restaurant and bar will introduce new Executive Chef, Shane Becker. The restaurant will be open to the public and will feature relaxed daytime dining, emphasizing Chef Becker’s new à la carte menu with daily specials. Evening dining will feature island cuisine set against an exquisite, candle-lit backdrop. Mornings offer a light and healthy continental breakfast along with a complete menu of classic dishes. Dining will be available in the renovated dining room or under the new dining tent on the terrace overlooking the ocean. Beach-side food and beverage service will be available to residents and hotel guests.
The Dunmore is located at the crown of Harbour Island’s pristine pink sand beach. Harbour Island is considered the gem of the Out Islands. It is easily accessed from North Eleuthera, located 50-miles northeast of New Providence (Nassau) and 200 miles east of Miami. A direct flight into Miami International Airport (MIA) is followed by 90-minute jet service from Miami to North Eleuthera.
