Freeport, Grand Bahama Island – There are 6.6 billion people on the planet Earth, 1.9 billion of them are active online users according to internetworldstats.com. Can you think of any better way to make your product or brand more accessible to a larger market?
Viral Marketing is the reoccurring pattern of Internet use from person to person that allows information to be spread quickly via the internet by way of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
Viral Movements Music Conference will be held in Freeport, Bahamas on February 5, 2011 at the Pelican Bay Canal House Conference Center. There will be a Meet and Greet on Friday, February 4th, a full day Conference on Saturday wrapping up with a Round 3 Viral Movement closing concert at Club Amnesia featuring Rock City, Rapp Quelle, Sammi Starr, Raquelle Oliver, and TaDa.
Viral Movements aims to introduce to the Bahamian entertainment industry the power of new media by facilitating this seminar via Voice-over IP and distance learning tools. Viral Movements offers access at a fraction of the cost with similar goals to that of the Power Summit hosted during 2005 in Freeport. The seminar allows for more intimate networking and showcasing opportunities, while providing a digital footprint for all participants.
The main objective is to facilitate the growth of a viable entertainment industry in the Bahamas and export that product internationally. The primary goal is to educate virtually and physically provide attendees with information that they use to position themselves and brand on a global scale. After attending the groundbreaking MUMO Summit in October 2010 in Nassau, it was very evident that the second city of Freeport could benefit from a similar event.
The event is hosted by Sophia Lightbourne formerly known as DJ Shorty, currently known as Da Lioness developed an interest in music at the age of 5, when she began piano lessons. But it was’t until her senior year of high school in Florida, when she truly got in tune with her musical passion, when she took up the DJ craft. Lioness partnered up with Chip Lee formerly of Black Chiney and began to play for Lee’s Unlimited sound system. Lioness was the first female DJ out of the Bahamas to tour internationally, performing all over the Bahamas, Caribbean, US and Canada.
