The government has filed an appeal to Justice Neville Adderley’s decision that the Minister of Works acted unlawfully when he began road work on Baillou Hill Road and Market Street.
The ruling by Justice Adderley last December found that the Minister of Works, Neko Grant, “did not follow the requirements of the law” when he ordered the start of road work in the area.
Adderley awarded monetary damages to the Coconut Grove Business League, an association of businesses claiming to be affected by the road work.
The $8 million road project, which is part of the government’s $120 million New Providence Road Improvement Project made Baillou Hill Road one-way going north and Market Street one-way going south.
