Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has lifted the restriction prohibiting foreign investments in restaurants or entertainment facilities, and increased the minimum dollar requirement for direct foreign investment.
Mr Ingraham made the statement yesterday during his communication to Parliament on the amendments to the National Investment Policy, where he also said that persons who purchase homes in the Bahamas for the purposes of seeking accelerated consideration for permanent resident status will have to buy a home for at least $1.5 million.
