A Palm Beach County man has been charged with illegally importing fish and wildlife from the Bahamas, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said today.
Van Bodden-Martinez, a Bahamian national residing in Palm Beach County, was arrested on a warrant issued after he was indicted by a federal grand jury. According to the indictment, Bodden-Martinez, on or about Feb. 19, attempted to import spiny lobster, queen conch and yellowtail snapper, all of which had been harvested without first obtaining a permit from Bahamian authorities.
