The body of a 53-year-old man who had been missing was found lying in the morgue, where he had been since February 23.
Esther Outten told The Bahama Journal an unbelievable story.
The story went public last Tuesday after the Outten family became extremely frustrated with the police, who reportedly had not done enough to find their missing father.
Mr Outten was reported missing at the Quakoo Street Police Station on March 29.
However, police apparently never issued a missing person’s bulletin, depsite numoerus vsists from family members to the police station inquiring about the missing man.
Finally, after the Bahama Journal carried the story, a cousin contacted the family claiming she identified Outten to the police on the day he was reportedly found dead.
Mrs. Outten said if it hadn’t been for the story airing on the news, the morgue would have probably gotten rid of her brother’s body by now.
“If this story hadn’t been aired they would have burned my brother’s body come this Friday. That is very sad because we tried so hard to find him. We may have never found him,” she said.
