Are Police Covering For Rapist Cop?

The Bahamas Police are accused of covering up the rape of a mentally-challenged woman by a senior police officer.

A senior police officer accused of raping a woman with Down’s Syndrome and fathering her child has not been positively identified in a DNA test.

However, there are suspicions that top cops are covering for the senior officer who allegedly raped the woman.

Blood for a DNA analysis was taken 17 mmonths ago but police failed to submit the blood samples for testing.  Only after a local newspaper printed the family’s story did police send the blood samples to the lab.

Meanwhile, police continually lied to the family, saying that it is not unusual to wait 17 months for DNA results.

After the story was published in the local paper, police were suddenly able to get the tests completed in 10 days. It has been revealed that the test was actually ordered on May 10, not months ago as the police had claimed.

The family of the victim do not believe for a minute that the test results are valid.  They are calling for a new test to be made with fresh blood samples.

Police say that the family will have to pay the $300-400 that the test will cost.

Police also say that the alleged rapist is not obligated to provide another blood sample.

While the DNA tesing that has already been done did not explicitly prove that the accused officer raped the woman, the results do indicate that he could have been the rapist.

Despite that, and the fact that the police are entirely responsible for the delay of the DNA testing, police refuse to cooperate with the family by providing another test.

The mother of the victim wants the rapist to be jailed and the police officers who assisted in the alleged cover-up jailed as well.
