Chinese and Bahamian Real Estate Groups Join ICREA

ICREA, the International Consortium of Real Estate Associations, has decided to expand into China and the Bahamas.

At the group’s board meeting in Berlin this week, members voted to approve membership for national industry organizations in the Bahamas and China effective from June 30 2011.

The new member organisations concerned are the Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) and the China Real Estate Alliance (CREA).

“The Bahamas Real Estate Association represents more than 600 professionals working in all sectors of the property market in the Bahamas,” ICREA told OPP this week.

“BREA also serves as the country’s regulatory body, overseeing the practice of real estate and the licensing of agents in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.”

The China Real Estate Alliance represents 2,000 company members in 31 provinces throughout China and seeks to be national in scope. City real estate “associations” in China are tied to various government arms and there is no single entity that professes to represent the country.

“Given China’s increasingly important role in the global market, an alliance with CREA is a valuable entry into the market for the ICREA network,” says the organisation.

ICREA also announced this week that overseas property buyers “looking to invest or own a holiday home in Spain can now more easily search for available properties” via its WorldProperties.com site.

“The Asociacion Empresarial Gestion Inmobiliaria (AEGI), ICREA’s member association in Spain, is now sending property data feeds to WorldProperties.com, so buyers and brokers worldwide can search for view current listings from industry professionals in 20 languages,” says ICREA.
